Motiqa

Privacy policy

What Motiqa collects, and what it does not.

Overview

Motiqa is a motorcycle app. It shows a map, plans and navigates routes, records rides, and lets riders share them. This policy explains what personal data it collects in order to do that, why, and what happens to it.

Last updated: September 2026.

Who is responsible

Motiqa is developed and operated by Haris Hodžić, Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

For any question about this policy or about your data: support@motiqa.app.

Account data

Creating an account stores your email address and display name, together with anything else you choose to add: a profile photo, bike details, a home area. All of it can be changed or removed in the app.

This data is processed in order to provide the account you asked for.

Location

While the app is open, your location is used to show your position on the map, to search near you, and to give directions.

While a ride is being recorded, location is also read in the background, so that recording continues when the screen locks. This happens only during a ride you have started, and stops when you finish it.

A recorded ride stores its track: the path, timing, speed and distance. Rides are private to your account unless you publish them.

Motion sensors

During a ride, the phone's accelerometer and gyroscope are read to calculate lean angle, acceleration and braking. These readings are stored with that ride and shown as its telemetry. They are not used to identify you.

Photos and camera

Photos are accessed only when you select or take one, for a profile picture, a bike, or a post. Nothing is uploaded until you post it.

Service providers

Supabase provides the database, file storage and sign-in on which the app runs, and processes the data described above on our instructions.

Google Maps Platform provides the map, place search and route calculation. Those requests are sent through our own server, so Google receives what is needed to answer them and not your account.

OpenStreetMap provides the map data behind the road catalogue and the speed limits. It receives no data about you.

These providers operate infrastructure outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, including in the European Union and the United States, under their own data protection commitments.

Personal data is not sold and is not shared with advertisers.

How long data is kept

Account data, rides, posts and photos are kept for as long as the account exists, and are removed when it is deleted.

Technical logs kept for security and error diagnosis are retained briefly and then discarded.

Your rights

You may request access to your personal data, correct it, delete it, obtain a copy in a portable format, or object to its processing. The first four are available directly in the app, as described below; for anything else, write to us.

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may complain to the data protection authority in Bosnia and Herzegovina or in your country of residence.

Getting a copy of your data

Settings → Account → Download my data produces a single JSON file containing everything the account holds: profile, garage, every ride and its track, posts, comments, events, saved items, notifications, and links to your photos. It is generated on request, with no waiting period.

Photo links in the export remain valid for seven days.

Deleting your account

Settings → Account → Delete account removes your profile, garage, rides and tracks, posts, comments, the events you organised, stories, and every photo you uploaded. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Two things remain, with nothing on them that identifies you: routes you published to the shared catalogue, and road reports. Other riders depend on both, and neither carries your name once the account is gone.

Children

The app is not intended for children, and an account may not be created by anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as the app changes. The current version is always in the app and at motiqa.app/privacy, and the date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced in the app.
